This is the third and last part in the series of posts on How to Build Your List Fast!

On the first part, I shared with you the techniques you can use  to build your list by using forums. On the second, I discussed how to put the forum list building techniques on “Steroids” and about joining giveaway events.  Here in the last part I will share with you some advanced techniques you can use on giveaway events.

Last time, I talked about joining giveaway events to add a lot of subscribers in your list. I also mentioned choosing the more popular giveaway events to join. It is ideal to join events hosted by industry celebrities because these events tend to attract partners with huge email lists.

The above technique all by itself is effective. However, it can still be improved to get more out of it. Although it will require some investment, so I recommend that you only use this technique on really popular giveaway events. Here’s the tip.

When you sign-up as a provider on giveaway events, check out the available upgrade options. There are giveaway events that allow providers to pay a certain amount to be able to post up to 3 more gifts.

Why Give More Gifts?

Simple, by giving more gifts in any event, you are multiplying your chances of getting more sign-ups. It’s a way to leverage your efforts, and sometimes the upgrade option is not that expensive. Let’s say that by giving a single gift you’ll be able to sign-up 20 people in a day. Now, if upgrading will allow you to give away 2 more gifts you can expect to boost your sign-ups by 300% or in our example that will be 60 sign-ups per day and that is a conservative figure.

There are giveaway events where you can get hundreds or even thousands of sign-ups in just a few days. An example of this is the “Easter Giveaway” by Brad Smith and Guidoo Nussbaum where they were able to get over 8000 subscribers in just 11 days.

Another tip when joining giveaway events is to make sure that you submit your gifts early. Some administrators of giveaway events usually arrange the gifts chronologically based on submission date, the faster you submit your gift(s), the better spot it will occupy on the list. This means users can see it first and will have a higher chance of downloading it.

Why Not Host Your Own Giveaway Event?

Hosting a giveaway event is the most effective tactic but it requires some investment, technical knowledge and also networking skills. So I recommend that you use these after learning some HTML skills, script installation, and also after learning how to network with other Internet marketers. The first two can be easily outsourced while the third is not really that hard to do once you know where to go to start building a network.

To host a giveaway event you must acquire your own domain, hosting, and you have to get a piece of software or script to run the giveaway event. An example is Giveaway Manager 2, Ultimate JV Giveaway Script, and Internet Marketing Money Maker Script. All these scripts are available for under 300 dollars.

All you have to do is to install a giveaway script and it will take care of everything, from member sign-ups, to one-time-offer, and more. Just choose the package that comes with technical support so that you won’t get a hard time setting-up the site.

As for getting JV partners for the networking event simply go to Internet marketing forums to find some. An example is Warrior Forum and Digital Point Forums. There’s a particular thread in Warrior Forum for Joint Ventures. You can create a new thread there.

Make an announcement regarding your giveaway event in the forums. To make it more interesting, give some ethical bribes, maybe free upgrades or additional exposure for the first 50 partners, etc.

Another good way to look for partners is by searching on Twitter. Recently I made a search using the keywords “Giveaway ebook” and hundreds were listed. You can network with these people, reach out to them. Since they are already giving away items, it will not be hard to convince them to join your event.

After the event is over, make sure to save a list of all the partners who joined you. It will be an important asset that you can use when you once again host another giveaway event.

Now that you already know how to further improve the giveaway events tactic to build your list fast, I recommend that you try it immediately. Initially, join as partner-provider to get your feet wet. When you’ve gained enough confidence, try hosting one yourself. When you do it successfully the results will blow you away.
