TwoTweet.Com – Buy and Sell Via Tweets

TwoTweet, a new Dot Com extending the capabilities of Twitter via its e-commerce functionality was recently launched. The site lets people buy and sell through Twitter by simply tweeting.

TwoTweet promises vendors that their service is perfect for growing a group of repeat customers or for buyers to follow their favorite vendor’s recent promos. Through the service, a Vendor will get a custom store page at the site, however, TwoTweet said that the real action takes place via the Vendor’s Twitter feed.

Each time a Vendor adds a product to his TwoTweet account; his Twitter followers will be immediately notified. Followers who’ve made a purchase from a vendor in the past can purchase another item from the same Vendor by simply sending a Twitter reply containing product links, no more shopping cart or website visits required. Buyers only need to Tweet.

TwoTweet integrates a secure checkout system on its sellers’ custom store allowing the online store to accept all major credit card purchases. TwoTweet also manages all the billing for those selling online using its service. Vendors are paid via Paypal approximately 30 days after orders are received. Sellers with a strong track record and good shipping reputation will be paid twice a week.

Buyers can purchase almost anything with the service. They allow physical and digital goods. However, the first purchase experience of a buyer who wants to buy an item from a person he follows will not be as easy since the buyer must first create an account in the service. The succeeding purchases will be different. It will be easy and will be confirmed via a simple tweet.

Here’s the entire buying process:

  1. Register for an Account
  2. Re-Tweet or Reply to the message to purchase.
  3. Confirm the purchase by sending a DM to the vendor which must contain the product url and and buyer’s Zip Code.

The cost of this service is very minimal, TwoTweet stated that they only charge 15% transaction fee on sales of products promoted in their site while sign-up is free for all those interested in the service.

What can you say about this new service? Do you think it’s beneficial for Internet Marketers?

CREATING YOUR OWN E-ZINE

Now that we have established that creating your own E-zine is actually a good idea, we’re going to begin the process of actually creating the e-zine itself. The first step in doing this is deciding exactly what kind of e-zine you want to create.

Remember what we said in the previous article? There is more than one way to create an e-zine.

One is to offer what we call an e-zine newsletter. This is an e-zine that will be emailed to your subscriber base on a regular basis, whether it be daily, weekly, monthly or whatever frequency you choose.

In creating an e-zine newsletter that will be emailed, you also need to decide on the format of the newsletter itself. Are you going to send out text emails or are you going to send out your e-zine in HTML format? Just a word of caution; HTML emails are many times flagged as spam by Internet service providers, so you may want to stay away from them unless you have a really reliable autoresponder service that has an excellent delivery rate and reputation with the ISPs.

While we’re on the subject of autoresponders for your e-zine, there are a couple of ways you can go with this.

The first, and simplest, is to go with an autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse. Both are good services and you can’t go wrong with either one of them. They will both make sure that the bulk of your emails get delivered to where they need to go. The advantage of having an outside service is that you don’t have to worry about spam complaints, as they will handle all of them, including all opt-ins and opt-outs, or as is most commonly referred to as unsubscribes.

The downside to going with an autoresponder service is that you are pretty much at the mercy of their system. If there are things about it you don’t like, well, you either have to live with them or switch to a new service.

The second option is to have an autoresponder script set up on your own server. The advantages of this are that you are in complete control of your list and how your autoresponder works.

However, there is a HUGE downside to going with your own autoresponder script. Should one of your subscribers happen to scream spam (yes, it DOES happen), the complaint goes to your ISP. If you get enough of these complaints, your ISP can pull the plug on you and you’ll end up losing your hosting.

My personal recommendation is to go with a service like Aweber or GetResponse. You will save yourself a ton of grief.

Aside from offering your own newsletter through email, you can choose to offer your e-zine in the form of a web page that you would update every so often.

There are pros and cons to this as well.

The pros to having your e-zine on a web page are that you don’t have to worry about spam complaints. No emails are sent. The person just goes to the site, signs up for membership, gets his login and password and then accesses the site whenever he wants to. This makes for very little work for you as far as notifying members.

A good idea would be to have the last time the site was updated somewhere on the main page with what the update was so that people don’t have to go looking all around for the new information.

The cons of having your own web site e-zine are numerous.

For starters, maintaining a website is a lot more difficult and time consuming than typing up a 2 page letter and sending it out to subscribers. If you’re not an expert at web design, updating your site can be quite a painful process.

Another negative of having a member’s e-zine is that, unless you still have them opt-in, you have no way of contacting these people to let them know that the site has been updated. Many people, if not reminded about the e-zine, will simply forget that it exists and as a result will not come to the site at all after a period of time.

Another negative about having a website e-zine is security. If you want to keep the site only open to members, you’re going to have to have certain scripts written to keep people from hacking into your site. All of this is going to cost a lot more money than just sending out a newsletter, even if you do have to pay monthly fees to some autoresponder service.

Regardless of which format you decide to go with, there are going to be administrative headaches with each. Because of that fact, I strongly recommend staying away from the website and go with the email newsletter, at least when you first start out. As time goes by, you can “graduate” to a web based e-zine.

10 WORDS THAT SAY BUY – PART 3

In this installment of 10 words that say buy, we’re going to cover the term limited. Wonder if this word works for generating sales? Wonder WHY it works? We’re going to take a look at just some of the reasons.

First off, we need to understand what the word limited means and what it means to people and their nature. By definition, the word limited means in short supply. In other words, there are only so many of whatever it is. In the Internet marketing world, this is a big buzz word. The question is, why?

Well, there are several reasons. One of them is simply that if people see something come out and they discover that it is going to be in a limited supply, their first instinct is to think that this thing, whatever it is, must be great or they’d be selling a ton of them. Curiosity is usually the first thing that gets a hold of these people. Why is it a limited offer? Is it something really new and different? And if I don’t get it and it’s all gone, what if I’ve passed up on something that could have changed my life? This is where fear of loss comes in.

Think about it. Have you ever listened to those radio or TV shows where they are giving away a limited number of some item and finish their pitch with something like “These things are going to go fast, so order now.” Know why they go fast? Because they’re telling people that they’ll go fast. It’s a self perpetuating system.

So how do we take advantage of this limited mentality when marketing online? Well, the most important thing to understand is that when you say something is limited, you better mean it. The last thing you want is to tell people you’re selling 10 packages of whatever it is you’re selling and 100 of them are floating around the Internet. If that happens, your reputation is pretty much shot to pieces.

The next thing you have to do is figure out what you are going to charge for this limited item. Remember, you’re only selling a short supply so you want to make it so that it’s worth your time and effort but you don’t want to charge so much that you practically scare off all your potential customers. This is a tough balancing act and requires a lot of thought and maybe even some preselling surveys to see what people would be willing to pay for such a product.

The word limited has an amazing effect on people. It’s kind of like threatening to pull the legs out from under someone if they don’t act quick. Fear is a great motivation and when a marketer thinks that the newest and coolest toy on the block is going to be had by John Doe across the street and NOT by him, fear, combined with jealousy make it almost impossible for this person to resist going ahead with the purchase. And if priced right, thus making the perceived value a can’t lose proposition, the chances of you not selling out your limited offer are slim to none.

It just takes good marketing, a good product and one word…limited.

10 WORDS THAT SAY BUY – PART 2

In this installment of “Words That Make People BUY,” today, we’re going to cover a word that you will see with just about any product that you buy anywhere in the world because it is probably one of the most powerful words you can use to gain somebody’s trust. The word is “guaranteed.”

There is nothing more reassuring than to have somebody tell us not to worry about something, that they promise it will work of they’ll give us our money back. When we hear something like this it makes us feel like we have nothing to lose by at least trying, even if we’re really unsure that the thing is going to work at all. Yes, the word guaranteed packs a lot of punch.

Just take a look at the Clickbank marketplace as an example. Did you know that every single one of their products comes with an unconditional 60 day money back guarantee? That’s right. If you’re not happy with any of their products for any reason at all, you can return them if within 60 days and get a complete refund. And the truth is, this is common not only to Clickbank but to a lot of online companies.

The truth is, you would be hard pressed to find a company out there that doesn’t offer a money back guarantee. The reason is very simple. Because of all the scams that have come and gone, not only through the Internet but through the offline world as well, people are very hesitant to buy anything anymore. They’re afraid of getting ripped off. And who can blame them? It happens everyday. Because of this, companies are almost forced to offer a money back guarantee or they pretty much have no chance of doing business.

And even with that word “guaranteed” being thrown all over the place, people are still skeptical. They’re skeptical of the guarantee itself. Will you really honor it? Is this just more hype and lies? That’s why you better have a reputation of honoring refund requests or your business is going to suffer greatly.

If you have your own product or service, it’s probably best to register it with a company like Clickbank. This way you have no choice but to honor a request for a refund. Plus, you’ll save yourself a lot of headaches by having Clickbank sell your product for you.

The point is this. The word “guaranteed” is a safety net for a potential customer. They see that word and they breathe a sigh of relief. They don’t have to worry that they’ll buy whatever it is that you’re selling and get stuck with a lemon that they can’t return. Besides, if your product is as good as you think it is, you won’t get many returns anyway.

While you might be hesitant to offer a guarantee in the fear that you will get returns, which you will get, the number of sales that you will get because of that guarantee will more than make up for the returns. So if you can offer a guarantee, do it. You won’t be sorry.

List Building Advanced Techniques

The good thing about list building is that once you’ve reached a certain number, you can easily leverage that asset and you won’t have to do your list building work alone. You can easily do a joint-venture with other list builders, build your list exponentially and make more money with it at the same time.

You don’t need to have thousands of subscribers to start looking for joint-venture partners. You can start doing it with somebody who’s in the same level as you are.

However, I would recommend that you also be careful in looking for joint venture partners. Establish a JV deal with someone whom you know for sometime already or those that exhibit some integrity. These qualities are easy to check. For example, if you are thinking of doing a joint-venture deal with a fellow forum member, then go and check out all his previous posts and see how helpful they’ve been. Try to determine their reputation. It usually shows up in their posts.

Another advanced way to build a list is by creating your own products and recruiting your own affiliates. Although creating your own products will require hard work, but the results will compensate for it especially if you get a lot of affiliates promoting your products.

Some of the ways to recruit affiliates include offering your existing customers to promote your products, creating and hosting your own affiliate program, or the easiest, which is to launch your product on established eCommerce sites with hundreds of affiliates like clickbank or  paydotcom.

You can also outsource article marketing or any other traffic generation activities for cheap and have the traffic directed to your list building squeeze pages.

Outsourcing is one of the best methods to use if you have enough to hire freelancers. Just don’t forget to test people first. If they pass your testing then try them for a week or two. If things go smoothly then you’ll make your life easier and can focus on more advanced list building activities to implement. Thanks!
