The Way Of The Advanced Affiliate

The products we see all the time on affiliate marketing are usually basic. They’re for beginners… and frankly, beginner stuff really doesn’t work all that well. It’s no secret that the gurus hold back their true affiliate secrets. Well, what I want to do with this blog post is be completely transparent with you and teach you how to create a high 4 figure to low 5 figure monthly income as an affiliate… just promoting other peoples’ stuff.

One thing you need to know is that, even though you’re just an affiliate, you still want to create joint ventures… because joint venture deals are probably the most powerful thing you can do. You see, the advantage product creators have with their affiliate marketing is that other people are sending them traffic all the time, and the marketer is building his list, then selling them affiliate products.

The average affiliate is usually trying to muscle everything out with blogs, PPC, CPA, and web 2.0. You don’t have to be self-reliant as an affiliate, because what you can do is buy limited Master Resale Rights to a high quality product and sales page created by at least a B-list marketer who is fairly well-known, then set it up with a script like Rapid Action Profits (expensive but worth every penny) which will create an affiliate program for the product… and then you can use it the same way product creators use their affiliate programs to build their affiliate businesses.

With this strategy, you want to offer 100% commissions to the affiliate on the frontend and 100% commissions on the OTO. And you want to integrate RAP with either GetResponse or your AR (using single opt-in… that’s important… GetResponse is glad to allow you to use single opt-in… AWeber doesn’t like it so much) so that you get the buyers list and can mail them other offers later. Price the frontend offer in the $17-$27 price range. A couple examples of this strategy my business partner Lance Tamashiro and I set up are Tiny List Big Profits and Membership Site Tactics.

Now you can use your resources you slaved away to build to cross promote the MRR product set up on RAP with other marketers’ products. So not only will you be promoting offers as an affiliate, at the same time you’re building your resources. This is obviously so much more powerful than just promoting affiliate offers and building your own resources. You can use your resources for other types of JV Deals too, such as Ad Swapping and JV List Dumping, which Lance and I explain in Ultimate Listbuilding Secrets.

The beginner affiliate doesn’t do joint venture deals. That’s one thing that makes them beginners and not advanced affiliates :) And sadly, too many people fail because they’re trying to pull the carriage all by themselves without horses. You can completely hate product creation (like I do) and still get the benefits of being a product creator. You can do other types of joint venture deals and not be completely self-reliant as an affiliate.

How to Build Your List Fast – Part 3: Giveaway Event Techniques

This is the third and last part in the series of posts on How to Build Your List Fast!

On the first part, I shared with you the techniques you can use  to build your list by using forums. On the second, I discussed how to put the forum list building techniques on “Steroids” and about joining giveaway events.  Here in the last part I will share with you some advanced techniques you can use on giveaway events.

Last time, I talked about joining giveaway events to add a lot of subscribers in your list. I also mentioned choosing the more popular giveaway events to join. It is ideal to join events hosted by industry celebrities because these events tend to attract partners with huge email lists.

The above technique all by itself is effective. However, it can still be improved to get more out of it. Although it will require some investment, so I recommend that you only use this technique on really popular giveaway events. Here’s the tip.

When you sign-up as a provider on giveaway events, check out the available upgrade options. There are giveaway events that allow providers to pay a certain amount to be able to post up to 3 more gifts.

Why Give More Gifts?

Simple, by giving more gifts in any event, you are multiplying your chances of getting more sign-ups. It’s a way to leverage your efforts, and sometimes the upgrade option is not that expensive. Let’s say that by giving a single gift you’ll be able to sign-up 20 people in a day. Now, if upgrading will allow you to give away 2 more gifts you can expect to boost your sign-ups by 300% or in our example that will be 60 sign-ups per day and that is a conservative figure.

There are giveaway events where you can get hundreds or even thousands of sign-ups in just a few days. An example of this is the “Easter Giveaway” by Brad Smith and Guidoo Nussbaum where they were able to get over 8000 subscribers in just 11 days.

Another tip when joining giveaway events is to make sure that you submit your gifts early. Some administrators of giveaway events usually arrange the gifts chronologically based on submission date, the faster you submit your gift(s), the better spot it will occupy on the list. This means users can see it first and will have a higher chance of downloading it.

Why Not Host Your Own Giveaway Event?

Hosting a giveaway event is the most effective tactic but it requires some investment, technical knowledge and also networking skills. So I recommend that you use these after learning some HTML skills, script installation, and also after learning how to network with other Internet marketers. The first two can be easily outsourced while the third is not really that hard to do once you know where to go to start building a network.

To host a giveaway event you must acquire your own domain, hosting, and you have to get a piece of software or script to run the giveaway event. An example is Giveaway Manager 2, Ultimate JV Giveaway Script, and Internet Marketing Money Maker Script. All these scripts are available for under 300 dollars.

All you have to do is to install a giveaway script and it will take care of everything, from member sign-ups, to one-time-offer, and more. Just choose the package that comes with technical support so that you won’t get a hard time setting-up the site.

As for getting JV partners for the networking event simply go to Internet marketing forums to find some. An example is Warrior Forum and Digital Point Forums. There’s a particular thread in Warrior Forum for Joint Ventures. You can create a new thread there.

Make an announcement regarding your giveaway event in the forums. To make it more interesting, give some ethical bribes, maybe free upgrades or additional exposure for the first 50 partners, etc.

Another good way to look for partners is by searching on Twitter. Recently I made a search using the keywords “Giveaway ebook” and hundreds were listed. You can network with these people, reach out to them. Since they are already giving away items, it will not be hard to convince them to join your event.

After the event is over, make sure to save a list of all the partners who joined you. It will be an important asset that you can use when you once again host another giveaway event.

Now that you already know how to further improve the giveaway events tactic to build your list fast, I recommend that you try it immediately. Initially, join as partner-provider to get your feet wet. When you’ve gained enough confidence, try hosting one yourself. When you do it successfully the results will blow you away.

A Circle Of 5 JV Partners Is All You Really Need

Out of all the methods and strategies I’ve used online to make a nice income.. Joint Venture deals have been responsible for my business growing fastest. I still blog, outsource, do some PPC, write and submit articles, implement advanced SEO strategies (even some crazy black hat ones), but JVs have always been the most powerful and quickest for getting results.

I primarily use Joint Ventures to grow my business as an affiliate. You can find out some of them by checking out Ultimate Listbuilding Secrets. I can honestly say it all comes down to having a circle of 5 very strong partners.

My circle of JVs… We were partners when our businesses were small. We’re still partners as our business have grown to the size they are today. Whenever they put out something new, it’s as if there’s a silent obligation to promote their quality products and services. Whenever I occasionally put out a product, they promote it for me. We constantly do other types of deals too.

Working behind the scenes in the past for internet marketers who make several times what I make… that’s how they roll too. If I weren’t so damn lazy I’d put out a new product every month and my partners and I would just promote each others’ stuff week by week, a few days at a time… 3X5, that’s half of your month’s promotions taken care of.

When it’s John’s week to be promoted, everyone promotes John. When it’s Robbie’s week to be promoted, everyone promotes Robbie. When it’s your week, everyone promotes you.

You don’t need to try to grow an affiliate army. You only need 4 people. And that small network can be amazingly profitable.

Having a circle of 5 JV partners has other benefits too. You’re always masterminding and sharing with each other what works in the trenches. The best way to hold your circle is to get on Skype and add all 5 JV partners to the room. That way you can all be communicating constantly, leveraging your resources together, and sharing strategies together.
