HostGator.Com proves it is increasing its share of the Web Hosting market when its President and Founder Brent Oxley posted in the official company blog that it has recently reached 200,000 clients and that the list is growing.

The blog post was made a few weeks after HostGator ranked #239 on Inc. Magazine’s prestigious Inc. 5000, a list of the fastest growing privately owned companies in America.

Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to the percentage revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been funded and generating revenue by the first week of 2005, and therefore able to show four full calendar years of sales. It must be U.S. based, privately held, for profit and independent. Revenue in 2005 must have been at least $200,000 and revenue in 2008 must have been at least $2,000,000. HostGator.Com made it to the top 500.

Aside from reaching the top 500, HostGator ranked #6 in all Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, TX companies, and ranked #20 out of all companies in Business Products & Services category.

Looking back at its past, HostGator’s President Brent Oxley said he still remember when he’d be out celebrating if HostGator managed to get two sign-ups a in a week. Now the company is seeing thousands of sign-ups in the same period. He also said that back in the early days, the celebration consisted of nothing more than dropping the Ramen noodles or the tuna can he had in his hands and grabbing some sushi for an hour before scrambling back to work.

Back in the days, Mr. Oxley was a poor college student who invested every penny he had back into the company to support it’s operations.

Today, Mr. Oxley said even though HostGator is already among the world’s largest hosting companies he still wants to see it become the biggest. He added that he can definitely see it happening within the next eight years.

HostGator’s story of struggle and success is very inspiring especially to Internet marketers who passes through the same trials and usually have to work hard before they see any progress.

What about you? What’s your success story?
