If you have that burning desire to promote products and sell online, that’s good. It is the drive that can change your life for the best. However, there may be instances when you have no idea what niche you should go into. This is critical. A lot of Internet marketers get trapped in unprofitable niches that they can no longer easily get out of because they’ve heavily invested too much time and money in it.

Remember, the bigger investment you made, the harder it is to get out of that niche. So the best thing to do is to check out the niche right from the start. Do your due diligence. Make some research to verify if a particular niche is indeed making money. Of course you won’t get exact statements declaring that a certain niche is profitable (though there could be some studies), however there are signs of a niche’s profitability. One of the signs includes long-running magazines in the niche.

Long-running magazine publications are a good indicator of niche profitability. Just think how these publications survive for such a long time if there were not enough (willing-to-pay) interest in the subject.

The best site online to visit when doing such research is Magazine.com, it is a database of roughly all the magazines that are in print today. It’s also a good place to find new easy money markets.

Here’s a quick run through of what you should do on the site. Go to www.magazine.com, click “Browse Magazine” at the top of the screen. You’ll see “Top Categories” for the magazines arrange alphabetically. Click on the category to find some interesting target markets. Take note of what you’ll see. These will be the niche markets that you will venture into. Look for the top magazine in your selected category and check out the niche that it serves. From now on this will be the niche you’ll focus on. You can now start getting some affiliate products to promote or create some of your own, and then promote and start making money on the niche.

Again, if a market has a magazine that has been around for a while, then you know that there are enough paying subscribers and advertisers backing it up. This signals profitability and you should jump in there and take a piece of that market to make some decent cash. Thanks!
