Three blogging tips

Blogging is the hip word today and in all senses, it has become a huge craze amongst most people. Especially the younger generation of 16-32 are attracted to it like a moth to the candle. However, if you are trying to get your own online business underway, then blogging is extremely important for you. It is one stair that will help you climb a lot in this internet industry. However, most people are quite unsure about this blog thing and whether or not they should at all go for their own blog. This article deals with three tips that will help you start off and develop with blogging at no time at all.

The very first tip amongst the three, which you should keep in mind, is that your blog should have good content to attract people. A blog is kept basically for the purpose of writing some content in it and when this content goes missing, the blog does not get popularised anymore. However, that is not to say that you can place anything on it. Also, whenever you put some content on it, you have to update that every one week or so. The more regularly you update your blog with newer posts and content, the more popular will it get. Moreover, if you can land on with excellent content then all search engines will give you more leads than you can imagine.

Pinging is the next thing after content. The first thing that you should remember regarding pinging is that it has chances of completely destroying your blog. Just as pinging is useful, it is also harmful for you. I say this because if you ping your blog too much then, there is a high chance of your blog getting spammed. Once this happens, your blog will automatically be blocked and no search engine will show you in their search results. So, it is best that you ping your block only once a day and that too after all updates for the day have been completed.

Finally, we come to tags and it is one of the most important issues to discuss. Whenever you are dealing with internet business, remember that popularity makes your product sell. Many people do not want other people to be tagged to their site so that the search engines do not pick up their results in a search for your blog. Now, if you do this then you stand a chance to lose popularity and lose sale as well. Other marketers who are interested in your work will then automatically stop interacting with you, decreasing the market value of your blog. So make sure that follow tags are present and working for your blog.

There is simply no doubt about the fact that blogging make your online business grow. Therefore, keep these three things in mind and get hundred percent profit from your very own blog.

How do you handle business burnout?

A burnout is something that happens to the best us at the best of times. Even I, who seem to be so strong and knowledgeable about this field, have suffered from the same many a times. However, from a few days, I feel as if I cannot take the extra load any more; as if I just want to shut everything out and be done with it. But, what do you do when you reach such a situation that you just cannot take it anymore? Following are a few helpful notes that have helped me survive through such burnouts and I hope that they will help you too.

The very first thing that you should do as soon as possible is take a break, get away from work. I have seen many of my friends trying to handle a burnout by working through it in double intensity, but that does not help in the end. It aggravates your problem because you are completely blocking your mind against the problem and trying to behave as if everything is normal. This won’t help and so just try and relax. Usually, I start strumming on my guitar at such times and it really works wonders for me. If you have any other hobby then you can try cultivating that. These things will take your mind off the work and help you take the much needed break.

Then you need to prepare the return to work. Just as you need to get away from work, there will be a time when the work will seem more inevitable than ever. You cannot simply ignore that you have a business to handle! So, after you feel quite refreshed take preparation to return back to work with a fresh mind. The first and foremost thing that you have to do now is make yourself a schedule. Now, this schedule has to be something which will allow you enough time to relax. The very fact that you are having a burnout shows that your schedule was over packed. Therefore you need to make a schedule which is a bit lighter. Do not dropout days entirely, do some but little work occasionally. This will prevent further burnouts from taking place.

Now, as you slowly get acclimatized to work after your return from the break, start putting in some extra work here and there. Since you have come back into the full swing of your work, therefore you can now afford to work harder and more. Keep on putting pressure on yourself till you realize the breaking point. Once you discover that, keep away from such levels of work and stop burnouts entirely.

It is with a lot of discipline that you need to build as well as maintain the reputation of your company.

CREATING YOUR OWN E-ZINE

Now that we have established that creating your own E-zine is actually a good idea, we’re going to begin the process of actually creating the e-zine itself. The first step in doing this is deciding exactly what kind of e-zine you want to create.

Remember what we said in the previous article? There is more than one way to create an e-zine.

One is to offer what we call an e-zine newsletter. This is an e-zine that will be emailed to your subscriber base on a regular basis, whether it be daily, weekly, monthly or whatever frequency you choose.

In creating an e-zine newsletter that will be emailed, you also need to decide on the format of the newsletter itself. Are you going to send out text emails or are you going to send out your e-zine in HTML format? Just a word of caution; HTML emails are many times flagged as spam by Internet service providers, so you may want to stay away from them unless you have a really reliable autoresponder service that has an excellent delivery rate and reputation with the ISPs.

While we’re on the subject of autoresponders for your e-zine, there are a couple of ways you can go with this.

The first, and simplest, is to go with an autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse. Both are good services and you can’t go wrong with either one of them. They will both make sure that the bulk of your emails get delivered to where they need to go. The advantage of having an outside service is that you don’t have to worry about spam complaints, as they will handle all of them, including all opt-ins and opt-outs, or as is most commonly referred to as unsubscribes.

The downside to going with an autoresponder service is that you are pretty much at the mercy of their system. If there are things about it you don’t like, well, you either have to live with them or switch to a new service.

The second option is to have an autoresponder script set up on your own server. The advantages of this are that you are in complete control of your list and how your autoresponder works.

However, there is a HUGE downside to going with your own autoresponder script. Should one of your subscribers happen to scream spam (yes, it DOES happen), the complaint goes to your ISP. If you get enough of these complaints, your ISP can pull the plug on you and you’ll end up losing your hosting.

My personal recommendation is to go with a service like Aweber or GetResponse. You will save yourself a ton of grief.

Aside from offering your own newsletter through email, you can choose to offer your e-zine in the form of a web page that you would update every so often.

There are pros and cons to this as well.

The pros to having your e-zine on a web page are that you don’t have to worry about spam complaints. No emails are sent. The person just goes to the site, signs up for membership, gets his login and password and then accesses the site whenever he wants to. This makes for very little work for you as far as notifying members.

A good idea would be to have the last time the site was updated somewhere on the main page with what the update was so that people don’t have to go looking all around for the new information.

The cons of having your own web site e-zine are numerous.

For starters, maintaining a website is a lot more difficult and time consuming than typing up a 2 page letter and sending it out to subscribers. If you’re not an expert at web design, updating your site can be quite a painful process.

Another negative of having a member’s e-zine is that, unless you still have them opt-in, you have no way of contacting these people to let them know that the site has been updated. Many people, if not reminded about the e-zine, will simply forget that it exists and as a result will not come to the site at all after a period of time.

Another negative about having a website e-zine is security. If you want to keep the site only open to members, you’re going to have to have certain scripts written to keep people from hacking into your site. All of this is going to cost a lot more money than just sending out a newsletter, even if you do have to pay monthly fees to some autoresponder service.

Regardless of which format you decide to go with, there are going to be administrative headaches with each. Because of that fact, I strongly recommend staying away from the website and go with the email newsletter, at least when you first start out. As time goes by, you can “graduate” to a web based e-zine.

You can create products even when the budget is just enough for a shoe string

Whenever I have tried to suggest that the best way to make money online would be the creation of ones own products, people seem to die that very instant. Either they shriek and expostulate how they have no money for the making of own products or they just stay silent and turn away without any expression. But, in reality, because you are unaware, you are building a misconception. It is because you can create your very own products and that too buy paying just about nothing. I am here to tell you how to do it and so read on if you want a cheap alternative.

Firstly, a product does not always have to be a cream or soap or some material thing. Ever heard of anything called informational product? Well we will sell the same. Basically, this product will provide information to people about anything you choose to tell them. The product can then be designed to include either written or verbatim information or instructions. They will also have some definite formats for the purpose. These formats may be anything from PDF to Mp3 and can be easily availed at a cheap rate. Sometimes they may also be got for free.

I personally feel that PDF files are better and easier to use rather than use any other form. Basically, it is the ease of development which pulls me. You can easily get word docs to transfer into PDF and the work will be done. In fact if you are looking for the Office pack then you can get it online and that too for free! Once you find it, just download and it will install smoothly of its own.

The benefit of the Open Office software is that along with all the functions and file creations, it will allow you easy development of PDF. The older version of the MS Office however, looks for external added PDF makers to work properly. So, you can get the Open Office if you want because no one has ever been heard to complain about it.

So, if you are harbouring thoughts of excess expenditure then just shove them off. There are very cheap alternatives available and you can even access free solutions for your work. With all the cheap material around you, do something constructive, get a video done, an e-book written and start making money. Once you start off, you can easily accumulate money and move on to better products.

But never say that creation of own product is expensive because shoe string budgets have also been highly successful in this industry.

Marketer? Person? What are you?

In one of the many forums that I have attended as an internet marketer and developer, a very interesting topic of discussion was raised. The question was, who should we put first, the person or the marketer within us. The meaning of the statement was whether when you are making a sale, you get that sale completed by hook or crook, or do you stay within your limits and compromise on marketing. Now, most of you who know me can easily say which view I will take, but the others would simply have to guess. I for myself would not say anything at this moment as I do not want to jeopardize my situation. But the answer will be clarified as we move on.

However, the topic in itself is quite contradictory because we cannot say what really ever defined or defines the juncture of being a marketer and a person. To illustrate how difficult it is to differentiate I would like to use the topic of pop-ups.

I am sure that most of you are aware of pop-ups and for those without the prior knowledge; pop-ups are small windows which pop up at times across your browser window with some message written on it. Usually, it is a form of advertisement that the site owner would like to project to you but at the same time would want you to stay with their site and not leave without taking some action.

It has been found out that these pop-ups are extremely efficient for sales and advertising purposes. However, the back lag is that they can be blocked. If pop-ups are blocked in a PC then the site owner does not get to make much profit through the pop-up. But, pop-up blockers are not used by all and sundry and can be very irritating at times.

I do not like them at all, if you were to ask me about them. Also I use a blocker as I cannot take the headache of going through useless rubbish and find just one useful article. So, I do look up pop-ups sometime but only when they are about something useful. So, they can really bring an income.

Therefore what have you decided, would you continue with pop-ups or just block them.

So, who are you? A marketer or a person?

As for me, I am a person who practices marketing!

WHY OFFER YOUR OWN E-ZINE?

Good question. Certainly reasonable enough considering all the email horror stories I just told you. It would be perfectly understandable if you went running for the hills right about now. But before you do, you might want to read the following. It just may change the way you feel about starting your own e-zine.

What exactly is an e-zine? Well, an e-zine is short for “electronic magazine.” It is usually emailed to people though it can be in the form of a web page with a member’s login.

The first thing you need to understand is why somebody would sign up for an e-zine or news letter. This all comes down to why people even surf the Internet in the first place.

They’re looking for information.

This information can be anything from looking for a natural treatment for acne to trying to find directions for building a bird house. If you go to any search engine and type in just about anything, you will literally find millions of results on most topics. Yes, there is a lot of information out there.

But what if somebody wants a lot of information? What if they’re interested, not only in natural treatments for acne, but natural treatments for a number of ailments? Imagine how they’d feel if they saw something like this on the Internet.

Natural Health E-Zine…Get your weekly e-zine news letter where we cover a different health issue each week.”

A person looking for such a resource has just struck gold. Don’t you think that they’re going to sign up for that e-zine quicker than you can say “Bob’s you uncle?” You better believe they will.

Okay, you’re probably thinking now something along the lines of “Okay, but so what? How does this do anything for me to send somebody an e-zine on a weekly basis? What do I get out of it?”

What follows in the next few articles are a boat full of things that you can get out of offering your own e-zine.

The point is, once you’ve gotten these people to opt-in, as we call it, you now have the opportunity to occasionally (and I do stress the word occasionally) send them an offer for something to buy from you. We’ll touch on how often to do this later in this series.

Publishing your own e-zine and building a list is actually building your business. So now we’re going to show you just how to do that so that you become an expert at e-zine advertising.

What this does is establish you as an expert in your field as well. As your subscribers get your information, they’ll start to see how knowledgeable you are and will begin to respect you for that knowledge.

Plus, and this is something most people don’t realize, but offering your own e-zine, you actually get educated yourself. It’s unlikely that you will know everything off the top of your head. This is going to make research necessary. As you research, you learn. The more you learn, the better you get at your business.

So without any more delay, let’s get into how to actually put together your own e-zine newsletter that’s going to have your subscribers eating out of the palm of your hands.

When business becomes a hotchpotch

We all want success don’t we, and even when I am telling you that you can succeed online, you may just do it. But, success is not the end because it is just the beginning of a huge crazy merry go round which has gone mad. If you felt that, the time when you started without knowing which was more insane, was a jumble of sorts then you are in for a bigger jumble of sorts. This article is basically written to help you tackle extreme situations where you get so much work that you just cannot handle it any more. Fully immersed for the whole month, you have to find a way out and I will tell you how. It is fun, it is pride of success but it is also a period which is highly troublesome and you will lose your temper every minute, literally.

A few days back, I went through one of these phases where you have more work than you can possibly organize but at the same time will have to finish within the deadline, no matter what. The first thing that I did when it happened to me was to make a priority list. You too should do the same and chalk down your things-to-do according to importance. once this has bee done, you need to make a daily schedule of work, which will incorporate first things first. However, do not overstuff your schedule because then you will be running short of time and will get tense more and more. So, make a workable and doable schedule. Also, no matter how much time one job at hand takes, finish it and then move to the next. Make sure that you have finished all your daily work as per the schedule. If you work like this then there is less chance of getting mixed up.

Next, get a list of all communications hat you have to make everyday. Talk to everyone for sometime and tell them that you will get back to them within a couple of days. However, calls which are extremely important need to be dealt with at that very moment and finish off with them before starting something else. So, you just prioritize and keep your clients happy. They will no expect you to act immediately but will know that you will do what is asked of you. Also, make sure to be truthful, lies just build one above another.

But, even after so much planning and scheduling, you may find that you are running low. What you do in these cases is as follows. Firstly cross off everything that you have finished attending and then see what is left at the end pf the day. These things go to the next day but become the most prioritized of all work of the morrow. So, work load and schedule may change everyday and so it is better to plan your day on the night before.

But, this is not a foolproof plan and you would need to improvise as you move on. Problems will always arise but be confident and face them.

Stay calm under all circumstances and you will find that organization goes a long way to success.

STATE OF THE UNION OF EMAIL MARKETING

Email marketing, advertising, or whatever you want to call it, has taken quite a hit over the past few years. To understand how things have gotten so bad, you first have to understand where email marketing came from and what caused it to take such a down turn.

While history may be boring to many, you have to understand where you’ve been before you can understand where you are and where you’re going. Otherwise, most of what you’re going to read is going to be Greek to you.

Email marketing, in the early days of the Internet was like when we discovered the first cell phone. People would walk outside of their homes, take their cells out of their pocket, call up their best friend and say “Hey, guess where I am?” Of course the friend had no idea what he was talking about so he’d just answered, “You’re home.” And of course the reply came, “Nope! I’m walking down my block.” And of course the friend would say, “Yeah, right.”

Those days are long gone. Now the question is, when your best friend tries to reach you and you don’t answer your phone, “Didn’t you bring your cell with you?” Notice they don’t even use the word “phone” as cell is immediately associated with the word phone.

What does this have to do with email marketing?

Nothing and everything.

Let me explain.

In the early days of email marketing, when the only emails people got were either from their friends online or their ISP, there was no such thing as selling to people online.

Then suddenly that all changed. Email ads started to come. Slowly at first.

At the beginning, this was actually kind of cool for people as they’d see an ad come into their email box and they’d turn to their spouse and say, “Hey honey, look what we just got.”

But then the emails started to increase, especially if somebody went online to a web site and requested information. What would happen is that their email address would be sold to a zillion people.

That’s when people’s email boxes started to get overrun with what we now call spam.

Well, it really got out of control and eventually people starting screaming STOP!

So somebody had to do something about the mess.

Let’s now rewind a bit.

Before things got really bad, e-zines started to rise in popularity. People liked the idea of having news letters delivered to their email boxes about subjects that they were interested in.

But these same people started getting flooded with a lot of stuff they DIDN’T want. It got to the point where they couldn’t find their e-zine emails anymore.

So the complaints started.

Well, long story short, the ISPs had to do something about this mess. So they started putting what we now call spam filters on people’s email accounts. This seemed like a good idea at the time in order to keep unwanted emails out of a person’s in-box.

Except there was one problem.

The emails that the people were expecting to come, didn’t come. The spam filters really had no way of differentiating real spam from an e-zine.

Why?

Because most e-zines, back in those days really were just glorified ads. If you looked at en e-zine issue and a piece of spam email, you really couldn’t tell the difference except in very few instances.

As a result of this, e-zine email delivery started to drop like a rock and so did subscribers. It was starting to look like e-zines were going to die a slow death.

Then things got even worse.

In 2003 we had the Can Spam Act of 2003. I won’t bore you with all the details, but basically what the act said was that if you were to send any email to anybody on the Internet for business purposes, you had to include a ton of information such as an actual postal address. These people had to be able to hunt you down and nail you to a wall if you sent them spam.

Unfortunately, the Can Spam Act of 2003 didn’t stop the spam problem. The professional spammers still got away with sending junk all around the Internet and the honest businessmen were getting hurt. Somehow this was just all wrong.

You’re probably thinking right about now, why on Earth you’d even want to create your own e-zine. Well, things have changed a bit since 2003. Autoresponder services now have good relationships with the Internet community and can easily get your e-zine delivered about 98% of the time, which isn’t too bad.

So, because the worm has partially turned, we’re now going to teach you how to turn out a killer e-zine and build a substantial list in the process.

Not everything seems as it is; not all things can be taken for granted

It is very easy to start with internet marketing and then take some of its rules for granted. We start to think that certain procedures are just about logical. Well, if everything was so logical then why does it take us time to do the right thing at the right time? Here, in this article, I would like to discus a few points which are easily assumed by people regarding the subject of online business. I would also show how all of those things cannot be always taken for granted.

Now, when I say that advertisement is an important part of success in online businesses then I say it with all sincerity and hoping that you interpret it right. But, many people just list their sites in search engines and that’s it, the start and the end of their advertisement. They really think that it is all the advertising that can be availed. However, there is more to it. Surely you need search engines but other advertisement ideas are also cool. However, you have to keep in mind that advertisement is not the sole end and that is why we have software ranging from ezines to Adwords. So, it is just a handful of few lazy people who can do nothing better than get out in the easiest possible way.

If suppose some one says that you sell what other people need then do not believe them because you sell what people want. If people never wanted then no sale system would exist, much less an online business. Even when people choose MLM businesses they are not really in need of anything, an extra income or any other thing. However, they WANT the money, the commission that they are supposed to get. So, it’s all about wanting and making your life as you want to live it.

If however, somebody were to tell you that you need to be a writer to write up the sales page, then too you need not take hem as lightly. Obviously you need to be a writer if you are to write something but that does not essentially set the standards. For example, I myself have come across many sales pages which appear to be written, but by little kids and not by people who are experts in the same. So, just being a writer does not help, you have to be the best. So, do not take anything for its face value, it might really not be what it seems.

So, never perceive things as they seem, try to make a better meaning out of it.

It is only when you know he true nature of things that you can take anything for granted.

Get an ethic for your work; it will make all the difference

As a person so much involved with ideas and management of working online, I have to correspond with many online marketers. Sometimes I just like to throw a question their way and analyse whether they will ever succeed in the online business. Most of these questions are related to what they are doing to make the money and how they are scheduling their work. But, many a time I am surprised with the answers just because of the sheer lack of interest and loss of drive that becomes clear through them. Many answer by saying that they get stuffed with a few cans of beer before starting work again. Now this is what I mean by indifference. Bill Gates would never have been the man he is now, if he thought the same. But, most of you would like to think that you are just about to reach success.

Well you never will if you think like this.

Thinking will never change your life but action and motivation to work can. If you just sit about and think the whole day without doing something definitive then you are never going to succeed. As a person who had started very small and was in a dilemma about this online business industry, I have felt similar emotions too. But I have tried hard and not just thought and have even worked for 20 hours in a day when the work so demanded. Now I have reached my success and congratulate myself for the days when I thought of quitting but never did.

However, I must say that I can consider for the people who come from work and have duties to fulfil in their respective spheres. But that does not mean that you totally neglect the online business and do nothing about it just because you are tired. You can watch the television but you can never work after coming from the office. See, if you want to succeed you have to be organized. Also, development of a work ethic, something that you will always bind you during any compromise or danger is important. Sometimes when you have very important dates you need to keep these ethics handy.

But, most people are too lazy enough to have the time to complete the work at hand. No matter how little is left; they always delay and take a break. And they will do this over and over again while continuously losing money all the while. So, they want something that would drop gold in to your lap.

I can evidently give you the right tips of the same but my book is not with me. However a copy can always be got at the Folusho at all times.

I you truly want to learn about work ethics, you will have to build your mind set like that.
